My Quilting Projects

In 2018 I was invited to join a newly created neighborhood quilt group. They have inspired me to learn and explore quilting.  My most recently completed projects appear first.

Getting Back

This was a quilt to see if I still knew how to do it and to explore backgrounds.  I am not crazy about the colors but I did discover I still love to quilt.

Migrating Monarch

The quilt is back from The Purple Tutu Quilting Shop and looks amazing.   This is my artist rendition of my Migrating Monarch painting.

Each 5-1/2" square is hand curated and the butterflies are foundation paper pieced.  The full butterfly is a mere 300+ bits of fabric.  Refuse to settle for anything less than butterflies!

Completed 4/8/2022.
In progress 1/29/2022.

Migrating Monarch
Painting

This painting was created in 2021 and is based upon a migrating monarch we spotted in Golden CO while on a bike ride.

In January of 2022 I decided to create a quilt to resemble this painting.

Number Four
My Number Four quilt was created as a wedding gift for my nephew and his now wife.  This is the fourth quilt I have created.   The project began in December of 2019 and the quilt was completed and shipped in time for their August 2020 wedding.  The wedding was delayed from June until August due to the Pandemic and that gave me some breathing room to complete this large project.

Farm-to-Table Dinner Placemats
My quilt group decided we would each make placemats for an upcoming gathering of friends for a farm-to-table dinner.  This sounded so simple, but it took me weeks to come up with my own personal artistic design.  These placemats have become one of my favorite things and are a fixture on my living room tables year round.

Paw Patrol
This Paw Patrol quilt and pillow were created for my grandson.  Along with the twin size quilt, I created a quilt of the same design but smaller size for his stuffed "bear bear".  For this quilt I got a little more adventurous with the stitching and thread.

Hayes
Hayes is the first quilt I created.  This baby quilt was a gift for my brother's grandson who was born shortly after my brother's death.  I began the quilt in late June of 2018 and completed it in July shortly after Hayes' birth.
