May 14, 2024 - Finally my creative mind has kicked back into gear.  I have created the most amazing quilt for an equally amazing young woman.  I am also gardening again which is so, so good for my soul.

October 16, 2023 - It has been a long time since I have been creative.  Today is the first day of the rest of my creative life!  I organized my art/drawing room and have started a new quilt.  It feels good to be back into a creative space.  
January 29, 2023 - Today I finished my quilt top and it is off to Wendy at Purple Tutu Quilting for quilting.
January 22, 2023 - A few Birthday Portrait Cards in Progress.
January 2, 2023 - New Year and new quilt in progress... because Why Not?
December 21, 2022 - Holiday letters and gifts are mailed and now is the time to relax and enjoy life's pleasures.  December 2, 2022 - Paintings and cards are completed and now on to another painting.
November 10, 2022 - I have made lots of progress with paintings and cards!
October 23, 2022 - With the cooling weather I have found more time to create Art and I am loving it!

September 28, 2022 - Finally, a new Work in Progress.  
September 1, 2022 - It's been a long time since April.  Migrating Butterfly quilt is done and My Friend Vivian Birthday Portrait is finished.  Now on to more art projects...
April 8, 2022 - A new Birthday Portrait Card is completed and posted!  And, my Migrating Monarch quilt top is completed and ready to be delivered to the quilter for the final step.  Now on to the next project..
March 16, 2022 - My Migrating Monarch Quilt is progressing nicely and more pictures will be posted soon.  A new Birthday Portrait Card is completed and posted!
February 17, 2022 - There is never enough time to do all the art that is in my head!  Migrating Monarch Quilt is coming along and a new painting is being envisioned.
January 31, 2022 - Maine Colors painting completed and I am making good progress on my new quilt - Migrating Monarch - based on my painting with the same name.  
January 27, 2022 - How better to spend part of a snowy, cold day than to garden.  Tomato seedlings started and a surprise of blooms from my goldfish plant. 
January 6, 2022 - Wow 2022!  I finished a painting, have a drawing in process and am starting a new quilt.  That seems to be a pretty aggressive start to a new year. 
2022 - A New Year has arrived.
December 21, 2021 - I am trying to do a charcoal portrait.  Well, I tried and was not completed pleased so am doing pencil sketch while I ponder if I will try charcoal again.  Sketch in process posted under Work in Process.
December 11, 2021 - Monarch Sighting in Golden is completed and now on to my next painting.  What shall it be?
December 3, 2021 - new posting of a quilt and birthday portrait painting for my granddaughter's birthday.
December 2, 2021 - New postings under Quilting and Work in Process.  My friend and master quilt pattern designer Kate Colleran (KateColleranDesigns.com) provided the pattern as a Mystery Quilt Along for the holiday table runner I completed yesterday. 
November 14, 2021 - I am working on quilting and painting at the same time!  Work in Process updated today.
November 7, 2021 - I am nearing the completion of a new quilt - not yet posted below.  And now is a good day to start a new painting!
October 23, 2021 - The weather is finally cooling and I have been busy with family Birthday Portrait Paintings and a new quilt.
September 6, 2021 - Maine October 2018 painting completed and posted!
August 30, 2021 - New Work in Progress painting added and a new Card added.  
August 26, 2021 - Today I have begun a new Trees That Speak to Me Painting.  This will be Number Six in my Collection. 
August 23, 2021 - Painting completed except for a few final touches.  Now on to the next!
August 15, 2021 - The summer is winding down and I am now gearing up to get back to the routine of painting. 
June 9, 2021 - The flowers are starting to bloom in my yard and planters.  New photos posted under Gardening below because after all it is "the art" of gardening!
June 4, 2021 - My newest painting called "My Brother's Back Yard" is completed and posted below.
May 30, 2021 - I have been working on a painting for a family member.  This painting will be the first in my new Collection entitled "Peace In The Garden". 
May 27, 2021 - Today on a bike ride I found a tree to add to my Trees That Speak to Me Collection.  Take a peek under the posting below and see if it speaks to you!
May 18, 2021 - Number Four in Trees That Speak To Me is completed and posted below.  On to my next painting My Brothers Backyard!
May 9, 2021 - I am progressing on the Borghese Gardens painting.  I must learn how to paint a straight line!
May 5, 2021 - Number Three in Trees That Speak To Me is completed and posted below.  Next up is a painting based upon a photo taken at the Borghese Gardens in Rome, Italy.  
May 2, 2021 - It is a cold and rainy day which means it is perfect for painting!  Iceland April 2011 in process and can be found under Trees That Speak To Me category below.  
April 28, 2021 - Today I began on the third painting in my Trees That Speak to Me collection.  These paintings can be found under the link below. 
April 23, 2021 - The Art of Gardening!  I am organizing my seedling plants so that when the time comes they can go outside. New photos are under the Gardening category below.
April 13, 2021 - I have now begun working on my Trees That Speak to Me paintings. These can be found and followed under Work in Progress.
April 7, 2021 - New posting under Greeting Cards! 
March 27, 2021 - My new project is entitled Trees That Speak to Me.  I will be working on paintings to depict trees I have encountered over the years on trips.  Believe it or not, I even have photos of a few trees in Iceland.  Work in Progress will be updated as I progress.  
March 21, 2021 - I have now moved onto thinking of spring and summer.  Seedlings are starting to grow all throughout my house in anticipation of summer planting.  Pictures are posted in the Gardening section below.
March 13, 2021 - The Sampler Quilt Top is complete and packaged to ship off to be quilted.  The Quilt can now be found under the Quilting link below.  On to working on my seedlings in anticipation of spring planting!
March 4, 2021 - Can you believe it is March already!  The Sampler Quilt is mostly pieced together with just the outer border left to finish.  That said it is 56 pieces comprised of 13 pieces each which is quite a bit challenging.
February 15, 2021 - The Sampler Quilt blocks are together and I am now working on the borders.  Click on the Work in Progress Link to see the blocks all together!
February 12, 2021 - All blocks are done for the sampler quilt.  Next step sewing the rows together and preparing the border!
February 1, 2021 - 38 of 42 done of the sampler quilt blocks.  I did not make my goal of having them done by end of January.  But I will keep plugging along. 
January 28, 2021 - 36 out of 42 blocks completed for the sampler quilt.  I struggled with the Pickle Dish block.  It took two days off and on.  My goal of getting the rest done by the end of January may not be realistic.  We will see!
January 22, 2021 - The weather has warmed a bit in between recent cold days.  So today's big adventure between quilt block building is a brisk walk in an interesting nearby neighborhood!  
January 18, 2021 - I continue to work on the blocks for my sampler quilt - 29 of 42 squares completed!!
January 15, 2021 - More blocks completed on the Sampler Quilt.  
January 12, 2021 - Today I am learning Traditional Paper Piecing for my quilt project.  It is a little tedious but the results are amazing.  
January 9, 2021 - Twenty blocks completed for the Sampler Quilt.   One more and it will be halfway!
January 3, 2021 - New Year, new challenges.  I am trying to decide what my art challenge for 2021 should be.  Shall I try to create a drawing/painting each week?  Each month?  I truly pondered committing to one each day and decided that was way too much pressure.  Meanwhile, 18 of the 42 quilt blocks completed for the sampler quilt I am working on.  Next up is learning the paper piecing quilt technique and that should be fun!
December 31, 2020 - Tomorrow brings a new day and a new year.  I am totally ready for both!
December 28, 2020 - More blocks completed on the Sampler Quilt.  Fourteen done and another 28 left to do!  I always planned for this project to take through the winter.  
December 24, 2020 - Back to quilting and one more block done! 
December 17, 2020 - New posting - Christmas Cards! 
December 15, 2020 - Well, instead of starting back on my quilt, I got out my watercolors to explore making holiday cards.  Oh What Fun!
December 12, 2020 - I have taken a pause from art while I finish up holiday gifting and clean my house.  With all my efforts in artsy endeavors for many months, my house had gotten a bit dusty.   I am going to get back to my quilt project tomorrow and am looking forward to that.  Out of 42 blocks, I have completed nine so far but I have the material already cut for many more.  
December 6, 2020 - The painting for David and Nell is completed, packaged for shipping and updated under the Painting link below.  I learned that I need more practice on faces!  
December 2, 2020 - New pictures posted today under Work in Progress and Greeting Cards!!
November 30, 2020 - Tomorrow starts the month of December.  This year has gone by very slowly and very quickly - how does that even happen.  My painting is progressing well.  Plan is to have it done by Friday!
November 27,2020 - Today will be a day of leftover turkey for lunch and dinner, painting, and a live stream of a Mary Chapin Carpenter concert tonight.  There are lots of things to be thankful for every day.  
November 25, 2020 - I progressed well on my sketch yesterday with a couple of great tips from my neighbor who is an artist.  There are so many talented people all around me.   It is amazing to me what you can "find in your own backyard" if you get to know the people in your neighborhood a little more and you expand your social circle just a little bit!  
November 24, 2020 - Yesterday was a productive day!  I finished my granddaughter's birthday card and mailed it.  Once her birthday has passed I will post photos on the Greeting Card page.  Today I will continue working on the surprise Christmas gift painting.
